PlanSource HCM – Spring 2021 Release Coming June 10!

PlanSource HCM’s spring release is scheduled to be released on June 10th! Included in this upgrade are several enhancements, updates, and new features designed to make the system more user-friendly and functional. Several of these items were implemented directly from client feedback and suggestions. More information and process documentation will be provided in advance of the release taking place on June 10, 2021.

Enhanced Search Functionality – Automatically Enabled upon Release

When you start a search, the first letters you type are the most important. To increase accuracy, only items beginning with the letters you’ve keyed in will appear. You’ll also now be able to identify content among duplicate page names with new labels that indicate the parent page name. Since people introduce themselves the way they want to be known, enhanced search functionality for the Employee Directory now displays preferred name as well as legal name.

*NOTE – This is specifically with the general search bar in the top right. This will not impact searching within specific fields, like First Name. This also requires the New Menu functionality enabled. The Classic Menu will not support this enhancement.

Secondary Job Enhancements Automatically Enabled upon Release
Better track your people’s additional roles with new secondary job enhancements. Any employees assigned a secondary job will now have details for that role included on their Job Summary page. Data such as alternate title, job end date, and supervisor can also be selected to display. In addition, administrators can enable a Secondary Job History tab where historical data on an employee’s previous secondary roles can easily be viewed.
Payroll Gateway Refresh – Automatically Enabled upon Release
The information you use most now has a prominent place on the Payroll Gateway. The overall look and feel has been updated as well as moving the location of Things You Can Do. The four primary administrator actions will now display as cards at the top of the page, allowing you to quickly find what you need. The payroll calendar, payroll reports, and payroll setup will be found at the bottom of the page.
Pay Update for Termed Employees – Automatically Enabled upon Release
A new Payroll Processing option will make it easier to pay employees with a terminated status without removing the stop dates on their earnings or changing the effective dates of their deductions. By eliminating manual steps, you can efficiently pay out an employee’s remaining earnings.
Menu Navigation Updates – Automatically Enabled upon Release

Being able to quickly find and access your content is central to your experience. The number of navigation clicks has been reduced by allowing you to easily view all Menu items within each tab at once, including your Favorites. You’ll also have the option to choose standard spacing or a collapsed view within menu settings.

*NOTE – This Menu update is part of the new Main Menu settings release in November last year. While you can still turn this off and go back to the classic menu after the Spring Release, the new menu will be the ONLY option following the Fall release later this year.

Browser Compatibility

As part of this release, Internet Explorer will no longer be supported. Trying to access the system using that browser will cause compatibility issues and some pages will not load properly. The following browsers and browser versions are supported:

Chrome – 89

Edge – 89

Safari – 14

Firefox – 86

 

If your employees use the UKG Pro mobile app, they will need to use one of the following operating systems and verions:

Android – Version 5.1 or Greater

iOS – Version 10.3 or Greater
