2026 State Unemployment Insurance Rates

2026 State Unemployment Insurance Rates

Employers’ first quarterly payment of their state unemployment insurance contributions is due April 30th, 2026. Except for new employers, which usually pay a flat percentage, employers’ rates are based on their experience. Employers with high turnover will pay more than employers with low turnover. If employers in a state have bad experience records, the contribution rate for all employers will increase.

Here are the 2026 contribution rates for experience-rated employers as of 02/27/2026. Entries that are bold mean the rates decreased from 2025. Please send the HCM Service Team any Unemployment Rate Notices that are received to be updated by our Tax Team.
