We’ve recently announced that PlanSource, in partnership with UKG Pro, is now offering powerful new modules designed to help you elevate your HR strategy. These modules can be implemented to connect with your existing HRIS environment provided by PlanSource.
UKG Talk is one of those powerful modules that serves as a mobile-first communication and collaboration platform , designed to connect frontline and remote workers with managers and colleagues through an activity feed, direct messages, group chats, and interactive tools like polls and surveys.
The UKG May Release introduced a new feature highlighted below to archive important content for compliance measures. Interested in UKG Talk? Visit the UKG Add On’s page within this website, and reach out to the HCM Service Team to learn more.
Content Archive. To support your organization’s compliance, performance, and governance needs, UKG Talk now automatically archives all Talk 1:1 and group chat messages and feed posts older than 6 months. This secure, long-term data retention policy preserves historical data and optimizes storage space for more efficient data management.

How it works
Each retrieval automatically generates a case ID, supplies case details, and returns all available chat or post history (including chat and post edits and deletions) and any uploaded files for a specified date range.

Note the following:
- Content older than 6 months is no longer visible in the active Talk Feed or Chat history
- Recent conversations and posts remain accessible to Talk users
- Archived content is accessible only through retrieval cases, not through standard Talk searches
- Retrieval cases are saved for future access, although they cannot be edited or rerun
Key benefits
- Retrieval access is restricted to organizational administrators only, ensuring compliance and governance control
- Talk environments remain optimized and compliant, with only relevant, recent content
- Maintains data integrity while optimizing system storage
- Archived content is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Review the full content of a retrieved chat or posts in the context it was originally created
